well since i'm installing new frame rails i basically have a choice of how far forward or back i want my engine. is the stock location good or would it be beneficial to drop it back an inch or forward an inch? plenty of driveshaft to work with and room from the firewall.

I'd keep it in the stock location... otherwise you'd run int oproblems like steering geometry header clearance ...

but I'm just an amateur... so I dont know if my opinion is warrented

all that can be fixed. headers will clear either way

stearing shaft can be shortended or made longer without issue.

just curious if moving the motor back or forward and inch or so would make significant enough difference to warrent the change.

I dont think it would... I mean, these cars are nose heavy no matter what you do.... I dont think an inch will really effect anything...
