so, the big question is...what do I need to do to get the more aggressive idle like his cam? Is it a timing issue? What should I have the timing set at? I appeciate all of the help...I am new to this Mustang thing
what is your car idling at? if it idles at 1k rpm's you wont really hear the cam. i had an e cam in my car before i got the trickflow and it had a fairly rough idle. the timing was set at 10 degrees base timing from the factory to run on 87 octane. i think if you run 13-14 degrees base timing you have to run 91 or 93 octane. i dont know much about speed density though

If you are just looking for sound, pull a vacuum hose.
I really doubt you have an E-303 in a SD system w/out any complains about idle or A/F control at idle. The E-303 will lower vacuum at idle (@750 rpm) to ~12" Hg..... way too low to the ~15" needed for the idle not to go too rich.
