Default Rear end problems

2 days ago i was driving through a parking lot and went over a speed bump. I was probably going 6-7 mph. once I got over the bump I felt the rear end lock up but then it would slip and go back to normal and then lock up again and then slip..... and it does this at the same point of every revolution of the driveshaft. I put my car in neutral and pushed it into a parking space and it still did the same thing. So I dont think its my trans. What could it be? im guessing gears, I have 4.10's and they were installed by previous owner.

Can you elaborate... these rears are technically supposed to "lock up"... Hence the name Trac-Lok.

If this is only happening at low speeds, maybe your parking brake or brake hardware is sticking causing one of the shoes to contact the drum. If there was a problem with your gears it would probably present itself at higher speeds. Not to mention... it was probably happening with every rotation of the wheel, not the driveshaft... which hints brakes.

I just went out and checked and it is every rotation of the wheel, not the driveshaft. Right now I have the car on stands and the wheels off. What should I be looking for?

The car will roll fine in neutral or gear but then there is a certain point where it sticks and it takes a bit of effort to get over that point then it is normal until it reaches that area again. I had to get my towed to my house and when the tow driver pulled the car up backwards the wheels locked up and woudlnt slip.

undo driveshaft and turn pinion lange by hand to see if it is infact rear end related, from there disassembly must take place to inspect parts
