Unhappy Engine loss of power above 2200rpm

have a 1984 convert. with a hi perf.302 4 barrel holly racing carb.model 9776 that was just rebuilt.car Idle's fine nice and smoothe.can punch the foot pedel to the floor and no hesitation what so ever.but try to ease into throttle and runs fine up to 2100 rpm and engine starts to surge and miss, you can't drive it on the road because it starts to buck, unless you floor it.any suggestion on what could be wrong would be gratefull.

part throttle hesitation on a carbed car, check the accelerator pump circuit, adjustment, make sure base timing is set around 13-15 if any performance parts are on the car and make sure no vaccum leaks are present
