im about to buy an 89 fox body gt(:
im good with motors and know the 5.0 is for me, i just want to know how fast is it compared to a new body style 4.6?

 

The 5.0 engine is cheap (relatively) to modify and parts are readily available. Stock for stock, a 302 fox body gt will prolly run a 14.5 1/4 mile and a 07 gt will get about a 13.5. But, like I said, mods are cheap on the 5.0.

 

the 3v 4.6 will easily beat a 5.0, but the 5.0 is easy to mod and cheaper

 

A fox with small bolt ons can out run a newer 4.6.

I consider gt40's stock don't you lol. They are a stock ford head....

 

For the longest time I thought I had an engine from a GT40 till I found out it was just a head/intake unit.
