Default another stupid tire question (max size/stock ponys)

The mini-spool and the stall and the nos have taken their toll on the old rubber that was on the car when I bought it this spring.

I am trying to keep the car as stock looking as possible, so Im keeping the stock rims. I have 26x8x15" M/T drags that clear on a 7.5" wide rims, but Im not sure what the conversion would be.

I am wondering: What size rear tires are you running? What rim? AND how much have you dropped the car?

I know its a stupid question, but I really dont want to buy tires and have them rub and blow up.

Car is a 1991 notch on stock suspension.

a 245/50/16 will fit best on those rims. If you go too wide, you will just wear the centers out.

I've used 255/50/16 's on the rear with no odd center wear
