Crate engine or rebuild???

Well, I just ordered my 306 Ford Racing crate engine....After doing the math I just dont think it's worth the frustration of hold-ups, let-downs, surprises, etc. to rebuild.
Let's face it....no way in HELL that I could take my 168K mile engine and just re-ring and slap on some new gaskets for $500-600 like was mentioned in an earlier reply (LOL)
Besides, I don't see how I could build an engine with alum heads/ 340 hp for $3,249....
My engine should be here by the end of the month (feb). So now the wait begins......at least in the meantime I can rebuild my T5!

well if you decide to sell the engine on e-bay or if your comfortable selling it to someone on the west coast ( like me) let me know

The engine wont be delivered until the end of the month (feb) so I'm just waiting for it to get here.....BUT I plan to rebuild the T5, install KK clutch, and 3.55 gears while I have the engine out for the swap.
I almost forgot to mention....CJ's had a 10% off sale so I ended up getting the engine for $2925 with free delivery!.....Now I know I made the right choice!
