93 Reborn Build
I got the new shortblock painted and the crank, timing chain, cam, and lifters installed. I will probably do the rods and pistons tomorrow. I still need to clean them up though. I decided to do the opposite of the blue I always do and paint this block red since the valve covers and intake are black with brushed aluminum.

As you can tell I am slacking on disassembling the other motor.....

I am in the process of cleaning up the old pistons and rings....to poor and lazy to buy new rings..... A buddy came over to help out and get out of the house so now the RR's, headers and heads are now off the old motor. It is just about ready to yank out. I will probably do that this weekend.
wow great project I thought I was the only one crazy enough to buy a roller in that condition. I am just a bit further ahead on mine as all i really need to get mine running is a fuse panel and associated wiring. I love the fact that you are resurecting the car and thank you for your service.
Robert, there was some rust deposits but I am going to tear down the heads again and install the valve springs I got from you finally. then finally finish up some port work.
Redfox, I have thought about finishing the fender aprons as well but I'm not gonna paint the whole bay.
Mb911, if u didn't read thru the whole I i have been driving this thing for a few months and slowly doing more and more to it. I i move home in October I will be starting work on my 83.

The short block is now complete. I had to throw in 2 odd ball rods/pistons from an older 302. One rod was slightly twisted I think and the other was distorted at the journal end so when it was bolted down the crank would not move. I figured I would have a PITA time with that one. I know I should have spent the extra $40 on new rings but I didn't hone or bore the cylinders out either so I figured I didn't want to waste the cash on them. The motor ran just fine before from what I was told other than the spun bearings.
