93 Reborn Build
Oil pan and motor mounts are on. I finished the bowl work on both heads the other night. I am about to swap the gear in the transmission.....
**Just for those who don't know..... With the 3.73's and up to get the speedometer to read properly you need to swap out the gear in the transmission and on the speedo. Some will use a gear that is close on the speedo but it will eventually chew up the gear.**
Upon closer inspection of the flywheel I bought used I am gonna have to go spend the $30 to get it resurfaced. I also seen that the bearing retainer on the transmission was starting to wear but I caught it in time to be able to clean it up and reuse it. I know a steel one is only $40 but with the wife loosing her job last week I kinda need to stay cheap as always lol.
If it wasn't for the flywheel I would have this motor and trans back in the car this weekend.
ALSO!!!! I am FINALLY gonna do some finishing touches to the ugliness in the engine bay known as the fender aprons...or the lack of in my case lol.....I am gonna make it so that both sides have an access panel that will be removable so that I can get to antyhing I mount inside....such as the starter solenoid, relays, ect.....

Top part of frame rails fabbed for both sides..... Still need to do the top section where the fenders bolt on and close in the spot behind the headlights. I am thinking about making a boxed section where the air filter goes that seals with the hood like newer style CAI's. The intake I picked up from Robert has a cone filter on it. Then again I have also been thinking about using the extra tubing I have to point the cone downward as well...who knows....we will see where my mind takes me lol
The passenger side is almost complete. Just need to do some trimming and weld it all together. I also need to cut out the cover panel that will be bolted to it and paint it all...

BBK intake I got from Robert.....

Heads are ported, painted and have Crane valve springs installed......

ARP head bolts and the trick flow bushings need to go from the 1/2 inch head bolt to the 7/16th.....from what I hear not everyone with GT40's need them but mine did. The GT40's didn't just come on the 302......

Passenger side is all welded up and primered. Its not perfectly smooth and not all the welds are smoothed out but I am not worried about making it completely perfect. I also went ahead and welded up the small holes on that side and welded around the sway bar mount for added security.
I have also finished cleaning and painting my intake to match the valve covers.....
pics coming soon....
