Default Heater Core question.....

I've done some research, and plan on tackling the pain-staking task of replacing it. I read [online], an article that a Mustang magazine wrote up and it was very detailed with photo's and info! So today, after reading thru the article I decided to go take a look at my car to get a visual of some of the things I'd have to move to do this. When I popped the hood, I noticed that the 2 hoses that [would] attach to the Heater Core are cut and are just open. Any idea why someone would do this, and where in the world the hoses could be that are the other cut end?? Thanks for any info!

the hoes for the heater core run off the water pump and down the passenger side of the motor.they should be steal lines that run to the back of the motor by the vavle cover. then them preform rubber lines go to the heater core. i broke the heater core lines of the heater core then i pulled my motor out. they must the the line bypassed some were.

Actually just found it at the local Auto Parts store for $19.99, and remember someone sayin that it's only like a $20 part. Guess I'll just do a lil bit each night next week after work and just drive my truck all week...

Heater core is inexpensive just a bit time consuming to install. Bubba

yeah i got one from advance auto and was 21.19 total.its not real hard to do.but ive pulled out 6 mustang dashes before so it goes pretty good.just make sure when you put it back together that you have all your plugs in the right spot before you tighten down the dash.i hate having to take it back apart to find a plug i forgot to put in its place.and on the blower box.there are 2 brackets that need to be taken off and there are 2 bolts that go through the fire wall that you have to take off to get the blower box out.i was going to take pics but i never felt like it the other day.

Well i`m a guy who has done my own, 1 time all i want of it, as fas being easy i have to raise the BS flag on that!

It`s better to let a mechanic have the headache! well for me anyway! I can pay not to want to beat my head on the floor for thinking i`d save some money!!

That is why your hoses were just cut-off!!!!
It`s high at a shop and sucks doing it yourself!

If you tackle it yourself pack a lunch.
