Sounds like the car would be fine running around on the street. If going with a 650, I would like a mechanical secondary carb, like a double pumper.
One thing to take into consideration (which you may already know) is that a 302 cam advertised rpm range is going to be different for your application. If it advertises 7200 rpm, it will probably be around 6500 rpm in your higher displacement engine. I do like the lobe. Anything lower would be hard to run with a stock stall.
anyway, sounds like it will be a torquey engine and perfect for the street.
I would contact someone like cammotion and see what they recommend before you buy.
