going to look at a set of rear axles 28 spline supposedly out of a foxbody 8.8. does anyone know what the exact length is of each axle,or diameter of the bearing surfaces or splined section. are there any markings that would identify the axles as 8.8 mustang axles?

if they are 5 lug then they are out of another car.no such thing as 79-93 5 lug.they are probably sn-95,or ranger axles.i know sn-95 are a half inch longer and you need two driver side axles(i think) out of a ranger.but they both work.but sorry i have no idea on markings or length.i'm looking into it myself. if they are not hardened or aftermarket then they should be cheap enough (like 50 bucks) to buy and try.even a whole 5 lug conversion with brakes and all are 400 from latemodelrestoration.

after market or stock?

like already stated, they didnt make them in stock form.

Only certain sn95 year cars had the extra length but I can't remember the years. I think it is 96 on up. My axles came out of a 94 and they were the same length as the stock axles.
