Default 4 to 8

i got me an 93 4 cyl and a 92 5.0 if i where to do the engine swap do i have to switch over spindles, brakes, disk from the 5.0 or can i keep the 4 cyl front suspension and just drop in the 5.0 and switch the rear end

if it is just going to be a stock engine, why even change the rearend? gears?

4cyl came with the 7.5" rear... It can Probably withstand the stock to slightly modified v8 power....
it would probably be easier to drop the wholeengine, trans, and suspension system out of hte v8 and 4cyl, and then just drop the body on top of the setup....

lol probably i know nothing about the 7.5 but the 8.8 i know for a fact is a strong rear end until you start making tons of power

i know a guy that was making 1200 to the tires through a turbo 400, he had a built 8.8 ran low 8's and NEVER had a problem with it.
To say they area good rearend is an understatment lol

depends on how much abuse you put the 7.5 through. I had a buddy, that is dead now, who ran a 300 shot for a season and never had trouble out of the 7.5. When he put the roots blower on it, it finally needed replacing.

and no, the guy didn't know he was running a 300 shot. The guy that put the kit in for him thought it was a 125 shot. Then after a season the motor came apart and they found out why.lol

wtf? how could you not know the difference between a 300 and 125shot? lol, just thought his car was special when it droped a **** load of time?


This is my buddys car, 100% stock suspension, and rear end (other then 3.73 gears) on slicks. he doesn't launch it to gentle..... haha

the guy that put the kit on read the read the chart wrong for the nitrous jet. I believe he was looking at a chart for a chevy motor or something. When they pulled the jet, he found out it was in fact a 300 shot.

Safe to say, my friend had better guidance from then on out and did things himself.
