Default Widest tire I can put on my stock 16" ponies

Can someone tell me what's the absolute widest tire I can put on my stock pony rims and also suggest a good street tire that has good grip. I want a little more traction.

Thanks, Patsy

255-60-16 is a 26" tall 10 1/2" wide tire. it will fit better if you switch your quads end for end, or eliminate your quads. but flipping them around will give you a lot of added clearance. you can go wider but they WILL rub in turns and with passengers.

when they invent one we will all buy them

you have 2 choices...... traction in wet weather and last 50k miles but never beat a 2.0 60 foot time as you slip the clutch and granny shift.... or "real" traction that sucks in rain and last 15k miles. best bet is buy a pair of ponies... put some mickey thompson ET street radials on there and bolt them on for weekends.

if you think about nittos..... just smack your ***** with a hammer 3 or 4 times and save the $400 bux...... you'll end with about the same thing

Thanks everyone. I'll stick with 245's. I just need something decent for the season and I wanted to upgrade the 225's that a currently on it and bald.
