30 over pistons

Default 30 over pistons

i am build my motor for my 91 gt and i am having it bored 30 over. what whould be a good set of pistons , it going to be a street car. i have been looking at a set of keith black hypereutectic pistons. are hypereutectic any good or should i get a set of forged pistons. it going to be a street car n/a no nitrous

The hypers will be fine for what you are doing.

Go to summit and get speed pros they are fairly cheap and alot better then stockers

since it'll just be a street car, I'd opt for the speed pro stock forged replacements, that's what's in my 89, less than 300.00 IIRC for the set

The quality on the Speed Pro's seems to have suffered a bit since they started manufacturing in India.

The stock forged pistons are a great idea for you, especially if you might someday squeeze it a bit...other than that I'd stick with the KB hypers for the time being.

I'd use the forged pistons.
They'll take a 125 shor ok plus most any kind of 'upgrades' sort of a blower you'll be able to dream up in the future.
In other words, you could 'grow' the engine......
