2nd Gear shattered..
i shifted my car from 1st into 2nd at about 6k...as soon as i let the clutch out the gear completely demolished. Idk if its bc of the trans being to weak(WC T5) for my application, or it was a bad trans to begin with. I bought off my buddy and the gears in it were really noisy ever since i put it in.

Well if it was noisy from the beginning then it was bound to happen soon. Its up to you,I went through 4 T5's in one year from drag racing and powershiftin, hence the c4 in my car now, havent had a problem since!Note:I built the c4 with all TCI stuff and an art carr converter and love it.But who doesnt miss bangin gears right?

i have a built T5 thats going behind my 331, i like the weight advantage over the other options, and the T5 will shift smoother than a 3550/TKO.
and i dont care if they're more consistent, dog-o-matics are just boring...

yeah but now you're just missing a 3rd pedal
a REGULAR DOA is what i was referring to...
and +100000000000 for not powershifting the T5. mine did fine, the only reason i took mine apart is because i wanted the do a new gearset with a 2.95 1st and .82OD gear, im not really upping to torque rating much (from 330-400lb-ft). the weight and ease of shifting are why a T5 is going in my car.
not only that, but with my AC delete, the T5, the 331 instead of the 408W, and Cobra IRS, my car is VERY close to 50/50 weight distribution

hmmm all in all im leaning towards a C4. Seems to be cheaper than the tko. It would be more consistent and easier to drive. How much would a c4 setup cost? I would need it to hadle atleast 500hp and 500torque. Also have a reverse manual valve body and a trans break

c4 is the way to go if you don't care about losing od
if you shattered anything... it's prob the cluster gear and they are $300 if you add to the rebuild kit your getting up there
i also like sticks over autos and i squirt so im a good candidate for c4 but i'll take a t5 anyday
just my $.02
