back from the dyno.....
just got back from the dyno, it was the first time for this motor and the turbos.....only took me two years LOL
pulls were done at 11psi up to 5500rpm. the motor kept going lean at that point so had to shut it down. getting this weird rich spike between 4000 and 5000 rpm so i need to spend some more time on it. could only afford 2 hours on the dyno right now, especially with a trip to vegas coming up at the end of the month. best run was 567rwhp, 533rwtq. 500tq at 4500rpm....hoping to see 500 by 4000 when i fix the rich spike. went up to 15psi of boost just to see if itll clear the rich spike but no luck. at least no detonation so i know i can turn the boost up when we fix the spike. hoping to run 17psi when im done but the dyno guy seemed to think 14psi was the safest you can go on 91 octane. i think i can go more seeing as we made a couple pulls at 15psi with no issues and the motor is only 9:1 range on the compression. there was a really bad header leak and from two years of running pig rich, the plugs were fouled out pretty bad. going to spend a month or so pulling the turbo kit out, changing the gaskets and plugs, putting new coolant in it, etc etc to get it ready to go again. its not a daily driver so im in absolutely no rush. with summer coming and no ac in my car, race season is just about over for me anyways.
one thing that really impressed me tho was how steady the boost was. i held 11psi dead on +/- 0.2psi. who says the Chinese cant make a decent WG LOL
while i was on the dyno, i took advantage of it to tune the low rpms safely. had one of the shop's guys drive the car as tho he was on the street. i watched the afr on the screen and made adjustments. nice thing about the pms is you can make adjustments while the car is running and see the effects instantly. thanks to this ability my car idles and drives like it was stock again.
hp began dropping at the end of the 2 hours but after making over 25 pulls in such a short time, im not surprised.

you know what, the jury is still out on that one. i bought the stuff you said, installed like you said. two hours after i put oil in the tranny it had a small seep on one side, F*CK. so i tightened it 5ft/lbs hoping to crush the stuff and make it seal.....that was a mistake cause it began leaking bad from everywhere. pushed the car out of the garage and jacked the front up so i could do some welding on the exhaust. while the nose was up it pured oil out, i have the oil soaked cardboard to prove it. wasnt going to deal with it before the dyno so put the car on the ground and kept the cardboard under it. went to the dyno today, was there for about 3 hours, not a drop on their floor. drove it home, its been sitting for about 7 hours now with not a drop under it. why it stopped i dont know, nor do i care. i just hope it stays this way.
11psi isnt that much boost......considering the block is rated to 1500hp the sky is the limit.
and just for the record, the pass listed in my sig was done at 9psi and the motor bogging due to flooding just off the trans brake. hopping to see a couple 10ths of the 1/8 mile just as it sits now despite it still having some issues.
