Default GT hatch gas cylinders

I got a set of new gas cylinders for my hatch from 50 resto,, and they keep popping off the ball.
I can be driving along and all of a sudden "BANG" and I know the cylinder has popped off again. I know that is one heavy *** hatch!
Anybody had this problem before?

did you put the spring clips back on correctly. they should lock the cylinder onto the ball.

The retainer clips are in place,,,they are thin and flimsy and dont grab the ball like the old ones did.

As far as them being installed correctly (the clips) I think they were in place when I bought them. I will double check .

switch them for the other clips if you still have them.

Are your brackets bent to something. I think even without the retainer clip, it should not suddenly pop off.

They shouldn't just pop off unless the heads of the shocks are broke. I have one that has a broken head so it kinda pivots on itself so sometimes when I go to close the hatch it will pop off. It doesn't just do it while driving it though.
