cam bearings wiped away

don't spend a whole lot of money on a rotating assembly in a stock block. If it were me, I would try to get by with polishing the crank. If the crank needs to be turned, I would look at a different crank then. I would go with arp rod bolts. Don't be a redneck and put them in with an impact, have the machine shop work them. Or if you find a deal on an I-beam forged rod with bolts do that. I would say invest in a light piston but, with enough boost, you will probably be happy enough.

As long as it doesn't have to be turned, I wouldn't hesitate to run it. I don't like the idea of bigger bearings on a boosted motor. Stock motor I would run a .10 under crank in a heartbeat but, not with the pressure a boosted motor will put on it.
Only pistons I ever bought for a 302 besides the ones for my 393 was a set of DSS pistons. They were the bottom of the class of what they built. And they were VERY heavy. It was only 330 for those and a set of eagle I-beams and arp rod bolts off ebay so i can't complain really.
A friend of mine is running BRC pistons and they seem to do good. Ross and JE of course will do good. Some people say good things about the Probe and Mahle too.
