Hey guys, I am trying to fix my windows and door handles, but I cannot seem to get the metal shell off the door.

I took the panel off and I am wondering does it even come off?

It seems a lot more difficult to try and change any window motors or lock actuators with it stuck on there like that.

the shell you talk about, i assume is the inner metal behind the door panel. that does not come off... well, it does, but not for what you need to do. the only reason to ever take that metal off is for a door skin replacement.

you're gonna have to work around it, unless you have access to a welder. there should be holes in the door big enough to do what you need to do.
