Default Intake install?????

Hey guys I'm about to do a cobra intake install... Any suggestions would be great. Gasgets and things like that. Also stupid question do I need to run an egr spacer... Will it mess up my throttle cable if I don't... Also if you guys know of any write ups that would be great...

Thanks

I always take the corner bolts out first because they will be the ones most likely to break off. I would hit them with a hammer first to help break them loose. Use black rtv around the coolant passages and about a 1/4" bead on the front and back of the block. And put a set of heads on if using the stock e7s now.

yeah on top and below the gasket. If it does what it is designed to do, it is not needed. It is insurance though from having the labor into having to tear it all back off again if it does leak. Yes, throw the gaskets away, same deal. You would want to put rtv on it anyways on both sides if you did use it. Still no reason to use it though.

The egr, I can't tell you anything other than delete and see if it will work. If it doesn't, just take a piece of aluminum, drill some holes and cut to fit.

I don't think I took them off at the heater core. It has been a while since an intake change.

The cobra intake has a built in egr spacer. The gt40 doesn't. So in your case you will not need the actual spacer. The heater hoses can be hard to get off if they've been on there awhile.
