Climate control issues
Hey,
I am having several issues with the climate control in my '90 GT. Actually nothing works right except the blower motor, and I was hoping to get a little insight from some more experienced people.
1: No sustained hot or cold air. I just assume the A/C needs to be converted and charged, but the heat? It blows warm air for a bout 3 seconds, then goes back to near outside temp. Since it blows warm for a little, I assume the core is hooked up and working (no leaks, fogging up, smells, etc...). I have a 180* thermostat installed, so I don't know what's going on.
2: The diverter switch does nothing. Whether it is on MAX A/C, FLOOR, DEFROST, etc... it always blows out defrost/floor. It does not make a noise like it's trying to change, it does not change with acceleration, nothing. I am sure it is probably a vacuum issue, if so, does anyone know which line. I have replaced the vacuum tree on the pass. side firewall, but to no avail.
Sorry for the book-length post, but it's warming up outside and I'd like to fix it so the family can cruise in relative comfort (ie. baby not sweating and wife not b!+ch!ng).
Thanks

Vacum is not getting to control head. Under hood near accumulator is black vacum line that goes into car. Make sure it is hooked up. Heat- back flush heater core. Disconnect heater hoses and using garden hose flush in rerverse to get any blockage out of heater core.
