help building an aod
I'm trading a t5 setup for my buddies aod parts plus some cash, and looking to put this behind my 347 once i swap it into the fox. so to I'd like to build it sturdy enough to be able to handle 600hp so i won't have to worry about it. I've heard of a few things like all i really need is a 1piece input shaft, stock or better rebuild kit, upgraded o/d band, and non lockup converter. then most likely a lentech valvebody full manual so that i don't have to mess with a tv cable. any suggestions?

This may be a bit beneficial to you as what performance parts are out there for the AOD transmission: http://www.ford-aode.com/ I am not sure if the cases are different between an AODE and AOD. But an AODE w/4r70w internals would be plenty for your setup. Make sure to add a trans cooler(A MUST), shift kit and a stall converter to match your cam's operating range.
Edit: An AODE w/4r70 internals probably will not withstand 600hp, but would be reliable to about 450-500rwhp. Lucky13 has a built AOD. I'd consider talking to him as well.

i don't want to put an aode in it cause then i'd have to bother with finding another computer and harness and what not. i've heard of some aod's built to handle some power so figure i'll just stick with it.
