Default Expansion valve

I have a 1987 GT that I am rebuilding and have taken the dash out to replace the heater core and decided to clean everything while I am in there and replace the expansion valve. I have tore out all the a/c from the dash and have been unable to find the expansion valve. Can someone tell me where it is located at as I have done a search on the computer and have looked several times and can not see it anywhere.

Your ac system uses an orifice tube not an expansion valve , the orifice tube is built into the hard line from the condensor to the evap(firewall). There will be ribbes in the line where its at
