Default Is this normal Oil Pressure? (photo included)

I have an 89 LX 5.0, with 175,800 miles on it that runs excellent... just curious as to if this is normal Oil Pressure compared to your 5.0's? It's in the 'Normal' range, but usually sits on or a tiny bit above the 2nd white line about where the 'a' is in normal...(this pic was taken in 5th gear at about 60 mph)

Thanks for your feedback!

My stock oil pressure gauge in my car at cruisin speed is usually about halfway....

Mines also about half way up. Sometimes a little higher. But usually around the "rm" spot.

Put in a new sending unit. Real oil pressure will be determined with a mechanical gauge.

No. Stock gauge is pretty useless and inaccurate. Mine sat at M at cruising, I pulled the wire at the sending unit and put in on tight and my pressure at 60MPH went to O/R mark.

At hot idle 5.0 engine is fine with 10PSI, so install an aftermarket gauge if you are **** about it. If you oil has no metal flakes in it I wouldn't worry. Also since you are pushing almost 180k you can switch to 20w50 oil for hot seasons.

Technically you only need 10psi per 100hp engine output for it to live! its fine but a mech gauge is the way to go!

i wouldnt go that far with the oil.. i run 10w40

but my oil pressure gauge is just like yours. it moves up and down depending on rpm. sometimes its a little lower than that at hot idle. and it sits between the 2nd and 3rd (middle) lines while driving on the highway. i also have a mechanical gauge and at hot idle its on the 2nd line and my gauge reads 20psi so you are prob fine

Default engine producing vaccum at wot!

yes 20w50 ouch, unless you know your bearings are done, and your trying to make it for a short time then go 20, other than that yeah 10w40 will be fine! there isnt anything to worry over if the pressure starts bouncing up and down, or just starts getting lower keep truckin!

Thanks for the info/feedback! Pretty soon here I'm getting the 2 gauge A-pillar, and think I'll get one of the gauges to be an 'Oil Pressure' gauge... maybe the other one 'Oil Temp' or somethin... car runs excellent so I'm doubting it has any internal probs but who knows... It doesn't smoke at all or even leak oil. However the Mustang Shop I go to suggested I do an Oil Pan gasket next oil change, cuz he said it's "pushing thru" a tiny bit, so I'll probably do that.
