New to 5.0s I need a quick bit of wisdom from here
Hi,
I currently have the oppertunity to buy... well trade for a 89 GT. It has many performance parts on it.
He wants my Jeep which I have 3500$ into it. For his Mustang.

My question... Is it worth it?
The body has damage, it is a 50 from 50mph car. It has dents and cracks in the front spoiler. the interior is there, not ruined... But not perfect.

that car is a basketcase...
a 347, with GT40P heads... AND a supercharger... WTF
if the body wasnt such POS, i'd say toss some 180+cc heads on there, and you'd have a 500hp car
but it seriously looks like a piece

only reasons I can think if someone would put some heads on a engine like that is they are cheap and can't do it right or it is really a junkyard motor and they want to learn to tune on it themselves with something like TweeCar and don't care as much if it blows. And then the most probable is they are lying about what is done to it and looking for profit

All the work stated has been done. With receipts and my inspection as best as I could without pulling it apart.
Drove it and it SCOOTS!!! no idle issues or any other smells, leaks or rattles

my car was bone stock when I put a 1.5 kb on it. With 6lbs of boost, it would blow the tires off up until 70 mph. It comes factory with a 3.27 gear.
Yeah, this guy has a lot of other things done to the car but, the 347 displacement I wouldn't count as a sure bet until I saw it.

larger exhaust, larger tb, wayyyy bigger injectors, custom billet cam and some tw225 heads and it'd be a monster. not a fan of roots blowers though.... you'd be in the 650+ range though with the mentioned upgrades

stock t5 cant even handle a stock mustang if you beat on it a bit. stock trans on average are rated 260-310bs tq. stock mustangs put that out easy, even more so with bolt ons.
dont upgrade gears, upgrade trans and be done. the physical design of the T5 limits its ability to withstand a lot of TQ.

might as well get a block that'd safely handle all that, anyway, to the OP, IF THE car RUNS WELL and has no quirks, I'd say get it but not at 7500.00 even though in theroy you couldn't buy all those parts for such, the POS body really detracts from the value, trust me, been there with that one on my 89 vert, to make that car right figure thousands more, buyer beware!!!
