i searched the board and didnt find what i was looking for. does anybody have good step by step install instructions for this fan? maybe including how to properly remove the factory belt fan as well for an 89 fox. im sadly very poor with wiring. the instructions that came with it are kinda a blur to me, but i dont want to pay somebody to install it cause im sure that would cost more than i paid for the fan itself. i just dont understand wiring diagrams well. like hook into this fuse and that fuse. wish i could just hood into the negative and postive sides of the battery. and its the little things i dont get like why didnt the kit come with the fan already tightned down? i mean its only a little allen screw but just seems silly. and i dont get where exactly the sensing probe is even at in the kit have no idea what it looks like. i bought it from jegs. thanks guys

The factory fan itself I can help you with. You want to leave the belt on and the bolts in the fan. Take a large wrench. I believe a 1-5/16 is the size. Or it will work anyways. Place the wrench on the fan clutch and hit it with a large hammer. If you beat on it a bunch of times it should come off. If not, use an air chisel....at least that is how I have always done it.

As far as the wiring, we need to know how you want the fan to cut on. Switch, ac, temp sensor....

Edit: Now that I think about it, I don't think you have to use the hammer and wrench to get the fan off. Just unbolt it from the pulley and put the nuts back on. I took mine off two weeks ago but, have took so many off since then, I can't remember.lol Anyways, if you do, that above is how. Seems like I didn't have to on the mustang 5.0 but, I did on the 2000 explorer motor going in.

I want it to come on with the ac, and also with the thermostat. It has an adjustable feature on it where it can come on between 180-240. Obviously I would have it set as low as it can go

I'm jus gonna have to tough it out and use the crap instructions it came with. So can anybody tell me what the most accessible low amp 12 volt power source is that I can splice into? Guess I couldn't just use the positive side of the battery like I'm going to do for my high amp 12 volt power source. Thanks

your temp sensor you are using, it has one wire grounded, one wire to a 12+ power source and what is the other wire? a ground or 12 volt wire for the fan. Or do you have a one wire temp sensor with a ground only?

i believe the other wire is there to splice into the ac wiring so the fan turns on with the ac maybe?????
