main bolts

i am puttin a 351w in my stang i got a good deal on a oil pan but it doesnt have the stud for the oil pick up and was wondering if theses would work thanks i know this should go in the 351 section but it dont get as much attention

it doesnt look like any one stud would be longer to give you that mounting point for the pick up. if you cant find a bolt with that little stud on it just make one by welding a short stud on the OE mains bolt head.

It looks like you would still have to put the pickup tab underneath one of the nuts if you get that kit.

if i put it under the bolt would it still be good it wouldnt sit to high off the pan would it

You will have to check it when you mock it up, but it has been done before. What pan/pickup are you using?

1. Do NOT ever try to weld on a bolt for any reason. Sure way to find total fail.
2. Get an 'ARP' stud kit with the provision for the stud, they do make one.
Or, at least they did in '07 when I built a 351W for my friends street rod...
