trust me I went with ported GT40's and I was happy for about a month. Then I ended up building a diff motor. Do it right once and be done with it. You gotta think gaskets and etc. add up quick.
Unless u have an 86 model engine most aluminum heads with 2.02's will clear. If you have any vlvreliefs you should be OK with a modest cam.
That's true but most aluminum heads are capable of much more than a modest cam. My goal is to get the most out of the heads I will be using. I don't want to pay a grand or more for heads and not be able to get their max potential.
I was also wondering if 2.02 would be rather large for a 302. It seems like it would be better suited for a stroker since it would require more airflow. The smaller 1.9/1.94 would be the only other choice for a 302 but again your limited in choices and even these valves are too large for the valve reliefs if your running a higher lift cam.
