Default 94 GT 5.0 (slower than expected)

Hey Guys,

I just bought a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible in very well kept condition that has been modified a bit and have a question.

First of all the previous owner says the following mods are on the car:

Larger Throttle Body
Cold Air Intake
Larger (bored) intake runners
Stage 2 clutch/pressure plate
Ford racing cam
Engine bored.30 over
Shorty headers
Off-Road X pipe
Full 2.5" exhaust with Flowmaster 40 or 44 mufflers
Larger beefier driveshaft
Short shifter
and possibly more.

I figured this would be pushing around 260-280hp at the wheels but to me it seems to not get up like it should. I mean it doesnt feel slow but maybe I was expecting more. About how many ponies should this setup yield? I'm not sure on what cam was used but a general ball park would be great.

You would be lucky to have this car making over 220rwhp.

First: read the stickeys = NO HOW MUCH HP DOES my ride make in the 5.0 tech section. please post in proper sections, thank you

Second ...hold on....lol lol okay I'm done.....you have a basically stock 5.0 with a cam and are expecting 280 rwhp..lol more like a shade over 200 rwhp if that....add some real mods = decent h/c/i then you'll hit expectations.

Sorry lol, I'm new to 5.0's and Mustangs in general. I'm coming from euro/imports that are turbo and actually make horsepower with bolt-ons. Looks like I'll be getting a different gear put in. Car sounds amazing at least.

Haha pretty much, it was nice to just crank up the boost and have a night and day difference in power.

Anyway I love the Mustang feel and sound so I will try and get some gears and maybe toss a good Head on it.
