I think the first ?? is what tire height are you gone to be running. Like said above tire height makes all the difference in the world I can tell you I did not like my 373 with a 28in tall tire out on the highway and a customer of mine runs 410 with a 28 in tall tire both of our cars are c4 his really sucks at highway speed. Now that I run 331 and a 28in tall tire that is nice just another reason I love turbo cars.

Good choice, if you dont like it or need more or less then go that route later but you have to think about more than the gear! Keep that in mind!

With 3.55's that car will be slow as an old dog in the 1/4.
4.10's and 28" tires.
From the sound of your build I don't think that you'll be on
the interstates very much anyway......

I`ve been assuming you have a 347, if so then a 3.55 behind it wont be slow at all! Are you running N/A? any power adders?

2 cars with the similar setup with about the same power with a 3.55 and a 4.10 being the scenario if the taller gear gets out on the shorter one theres a 95% chance that the 4.10 wont overcome!

the only "advantage" that you can claim with your 3.55 gears is given your current transmission/gear/tire combo, you only shift once in a 1/8 mile.

If you took your current combo out and raced a 1/4 mile strip, you would be very disappointed with your cars performance. Your estimated top speed in third gear is over 140 mph. Your build doesn't have a fart's chance in the wind of ever hitting that in a drag race. If you were to run on a 1/4 mile, the 4.10 gearset WOULD make your car faster.

So you need to take this information for what it is, and realize that your are only correct when it comes to the 1/8 mile situation.

This is why, any time someone asks what gearset they run... I always suggest that they buy the set that best matches the overall performance, and end result that they desire out of their car.

Wrong! once the 200 shot is factored in then uh oh! the gear will be just right 1/8 or 1/4 mile!

I have seen many many times at the track a car with less gear get out on a car with more gear and it never flips!

Oh an i shift into 3rd at the lights, so your 1 gear blurb is just stupid! plus i get really good gas mileage and i can drive where ever in the hell i wanna go with no worries!

The man wants to drive it on the street! So did i when i considered the 3.55 and guess what i can and perform on the street and the track!

Compared to some guys on here my current setup, only going .4 less et N/A EFI vs carb 5spd vs auto radial vs slick i`d say im doing pretty ****ing good! Not to mention a nitrous motor that has only been N/A pass so far! I have the car i want and thats all that matters! we have 1 1/4 mile track around here and it`s 100 miles away lets say i dont spend that much time going there! we have 3 local tracks all 1/8 mile and with in 40 miles! I built what i wanted and needed!

HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE! if i get out on you spraying, you better hope like hell you have a badass car! END OF POINT!
