My question is when I open the hatch with the key or remote should it open fully on its own or do they always need a little help to get going? I bought this 1988 Mustang GT a few weeks ago and am still playing with it. It came without a owners manual which I am looking for.

The key and button just pop the hatch. You will have to get out and lift it up some for the shocks to open it the rest of the way up.
