IIRC, the smog delete on the foxes needs to go over the WP from the passenger side.

 

That would be the better way to do it

 

When I redid my engine the smog kit came off, and I used the string method to determine the new belt length. Just make sure you have someone hold the tensioner halfway through it's travel when you make the final mark.
