Advise on installing AOD oil cooler from ford van in my 91 lx 5.0....
I was advised on here that I could install an AOD oil cooler on my 91 lx 5.0, to help cool the oil better. I believe I can simply install it inline with the lines and radiator. Is this true? Is it just a simple install? Unplugging the oil lines to the radiator, installing the ford van cooler, then reinstalling them? What years and styles of Ford vans can I get a cooler from? Any vids on this? Tutorials? How to install the cooler in my 91? Any mods nessessary?

Not really acting up at all. Just wanting to do preventative maintanence......
I just need to know what years and style ford vans I can salvage one from.
THEN, how to install one.....never done it before. Is it like installing a second radiator? I would not think I'd have to pull anything off except just unhook the tranny lines to the radiator, correct?

plus I am planning a 5 hour roadtrip next may to Eureka Springs MO, and want to take the stang. I figure if they have issues with heat buildup, that a 5 hour 65-75 mph drive would casue heat build up......thinking an oil cooler would help. Wonder if an oil cooler from a 91 for van would work? And whats the piece actually called? Oil cooler?
I have a 1991 ford econoline van here locally being parted out, with an AOD. Wonder if it would have the part?
Also, anyone post a pic of what it would look like?

Its a tranny oil cooler and looks like a small radiator, not sure on the size of one out of a ford van but somewhere around 6" by 8". Most will fit but since it wasn't made for the fox you might need to have some lines fabricated. But good investment although only delaying the inevitable.

Do NOT i repeat do NOT install cooler lines thru radiator!!!
for 1 if your car ever overheats guess what else will..., and 2nd that tranny will run much MUCH cooler without the radiator, trust me, i know bout this!!
