5.0 Longevity?

My last fox had 325k on it, no rebuilds. Only burned a quart and a half between oil changes which I did every 3-4 months. That motor was a tank to say the least.

Sounds like it's a hit or miss if you find one that doesn't have mechanical trouble. I guess I will take my time and check them over good for problems! But for the most part proper maintenace has alot to do with how well they hold up. Thanks for the input, its nice to see some still getting high miles from these cars!

Agree 100%, but FYI I do burn a quart of oil every 2500 miles in between oil changes so don't be alarmed if your 5.0 has a idiot oil light on between oil changes. Don't forget the PCV valve! I have had mine since oct 07 and it is a 93 5.0 with 160xxx strong as ever but maintenance is key. They are oil burnin machines.
