Alright guys....I was going to work on rebuilding my trans until I found out my brother has a busted Cobra unit. I am going to take that off his has and build a really nice Cobra trans so I can save a little money on putting together a 2.95 first geared trans.

SO.....I need to figure out what the minimum is I need to change in my trans to fix its issues until I can build the one I want. I know a FRPP rebuild kit would be a good thing to put in it but I am not wanting to throw $275 at this yet.

My issues were
popping out of 2nd gear, mainly on down shifts...
grinding going into 2nd and 3rd...
and possibly something to make it go into 3rd a little easier, slowly seemed like it took more and more to go in high RPM.....

I'm pretty sure it needs a 1-2 slider and obviously some syncros for the popping out and grinding....... someone make a list please??? lol

I know need a 2nd gear also, mine is beat up...

 

1-2 slider, rebuild kit with all the blocker rings/bearings,2nd gear, 3rd gear and anything else you find when you pull it apart, call Kevin at the www.thegearbox.org this is the cheapest place I have found to get stuff, and he uses oem tremec parts, which is what you want all of what you need will be close to costing you 5-600 beans
