What year is my motor?
I'm in the process of starting to mod my 95 5.0. I'm just about to order pulleys, throttle body and a nice intake system. Only problem is.. My mustang is not a "true" 5.0. It's a V6 shell, with a 5.0 swap.
I have the 5.0 HO motor, which was last made in 93' I believe. So I must have a late 80s early 90's motor. But how can I be for sure? Where can I look in the motor to see the exact year?
Again I have the 5.0 High Output (HO) motor.

5.0 HO moter was last used in the 95 sn95 gt 's then they switched to 4.6 in 96.
The blocks are essentially all the same , in 94 the 5.0 received cast internals as apposed to the forged internals of the earlier years. You will have to pull the starter off to see the casting numbers to know what block you have.
How did you make the determination that its a HO?

Lol well if your talking about the name plate on the intake those could be changed. I was just wondering if you verified the firing order to make the determination that it was a HO There is a difference. And being that the car is a base coupe that had the v6 the harness had to be switched from one with a v8. It could have non ho with a 94/95 upper intake and tb on it. If I remember correctly some of the cougers had a 5.0L engine in them that was not HO.

I'm honestly not even completely sure. I'm amusing the swap was all legit and everything wired correctly because it can keep up with my friends 94 5.0 and he's is modded a bit. All mine has is exhaust basically done. As far as modding goes ill probably order 94-95 GT parts, and if they don't fit send them
Back and try others out..
