Default Help needed deciding on intakes!

hey guys, I need help deciding on an intake upgrade for my 89 5.0, I just got it a few months ago. Its mainly stock except for a cold air, e-fans, pulleys, and exhaust. I've been looking into the Perforner RPM2 and Trickflow Track heat, but then ive never done this so i would really apprieciate you alls expirienced feedback on this or even another intake.....thanks in advance.

Stay away from bbk ssi unless you want to do additional work to make one work correctly!! Tubular gt40 or any of the ones you suggested.

What are your long term goals for the car? If you havd big plans just hold of on the intake for a while. If your just doing intake and exhaust anything u mentioned will be fine and flow about the same.

What issue are you having with the bbk ssi?? Only issue I ever had was I decided to run tall valve covers and I had to stack 3 3/8in spacers for the throttle linkage to clear. Never any issues with running at all.

Op those choicrs are good the tfs or the performer rpm 2. But an exploer intake would do just fine for a mainly stock engine.

I would put gears in it, if you dont have any that you will feel. The intake is not gone to make that much difference if you dont do supporting work done along with it.

Uedlose is right about gears, if i could go back, that would be the first thing i would do.

As for the intake, its a waste of time imo if your not doing heads too. I swapped out just my intake and it was barely noticable afterwards. Plus, i planned on doing gt40ps later on and as of now, i don't want those heads, so now i have to get a new intake when i do heads.

i agree with the guys that said the gears will makes the most noticeable difference. my first mustang when i 16, was an 89 gt 5speed with basic c.a.i and flowmasters. once i did a set of 3:73's it was a completely differnt car. huge difference. 3:55's or 3:73's would do the job though. best bang for your buck anyways. intake manifold is alot of money that you wont notice much of a difference from unless doing heads and cam. and if for some reason you do buy a manifold go with a stock 93 cobra intake or explorer intake. the street heat over the track heat intake from trickflow also with having a stock heads and cam with no power adder. just my opinion anyways.
