Never had to replace one (on a 5.0) but it can't be any harder than any other car, if you have to replace a head gasket take the head to get check to make sure it's not warped, if it is and they have to shave it I have always taken the other side off as well and had them shave the same amount off even if that side was fine to keep the compression the same across all cylinders, even if its minuscule amount, some people might call that overkill though.......
Drove the car today, no smoke, but I did smell coolant from the engin bay, idk if it from when the collant leaked if from draining the radiator yesterday
