Default It's about time.

It's been a long time since I have frequented the forums or have been involved with Mustangs. After switching jobs twice and buying a house, I'm finally in the position to get back into the Mustang world.

Unfortunately, two years ago I was involved in a hit and run. The result: my front end needs a lot of body work. The fenders, bumper, bumper cover, rad core support, aprons, and front frame rails need replaced. I'll try to update this thread weekly.

Here is how the car looked in the summer of 2011.

And after getting hit, sitting outside for over a year in the elements, and then sitting in my new house's garage for a year, this is what it looks like now...

The passenger side apron barely shows damage, however the front frame rail is kinked in front of the strut tower.

Aside from the fenders, the most obvious damage is the apron on the driver's side.

And here you can see how much the radiator core support and front end is pushed over.

I'm going to essentially strip this car down to a bare shell, fix the body, repaint it, and reassemble... with some fun modifications along the way.

Pulled off the power steering pump, power steering cooler, and the plastic panels near the sway bar last night. This pic almost makes it look like there is no damage to the front end...

Progress has been a bit slow, but I've got the engine bay stripped down to basically a long block with lower intake and exhaust. Also got part of the suspension out of the way. Considering how many spot welds there are in the front end, I'm probably going to use a cutting wheel to take off everything in front of the strut towers. Then clean it up. Just for ***** and giggles... I put a 00 buck shot through the old, bent fender. 12 gauge did some nice damage. That's just one shell at 20 feet.
