From my own experiences, you should look to fortify the chassis and brakes first. Going fast isn't **** if you can't stop it. Does it have subframe connectors? If not, that should be your first upgrade. Then move on to brakes, then suspension. Just equate it to building a house. You wouldn't start building on mud or sand, you want a good foundation first. It doesn't sound sexy to do it this way, but you'll spend less in the long run by not having things break and doing them again. Good luck.
