Default Strut Tower Brace

I am considering installing the Ford Strut Tower Brace. I have a GT Premium, non PP. I read on another forum that there is no need to install the cowl brace because the stock is identical (non PP). Is that true?

I don't know anything about a cowl brace but you don't need to install anything extra to install a STB. Lot's of people add them to their car.

I read in another forum that if you have the Performance Package, you have a metal firewall brace installed. If you don't have the PP, you have a plastic brace that should be installed with the strut brace to get the real benefit.

Here is a post with picture showing both, if you plan on a rear intake supercharger like the Roush, don't bother with the long one, cause watching the losers on "the Power Block" on Spike Tv, they cut off the drivers side to make room for the blower intake.

Put the long steel on on FIRST. Then buy the cosmetic one of course having it functional might not matter to you.
