Testing warranty theory

Well some very interesting info today. I'm a very impatient person, when I am wanting answers they can't come soon enough..so..this morning first thing I called Roush. I asked what they had available for clutch set-ups in the 2015 Gt's. Answer was nothing, we do not offer anything. I went on to ask what goes in their Stage 3's and the reply was stock Ford Clutch. I about fell on the ground! I said you mean to tell me that these two 2015 stage 3's at my dealer have the exact same clutch in them as my stock GT...answer was yes. HOLY S%$T. He said they haven't experienced any issue with them holding the extra power of the FI. I went on to tell him my story and he was very surprised. If the car hasn't had any track time (sticky tires, sticky track... which I haven't) the clutch should hold up fine.
After that call I called the dealer, gave them name of person I talked to and the info shared. 45 min later they call me back, new clutch, PP, flywheel on the way covered under warranty. Out of pocket will be 4hrs labor for long tube/exhaust removal.
I guess Roush carries some weight with Ford.

sounds like i would find a new dealer, im a ford tech and i wouldnt even bat an eye at replacing your clutch under warranty, ......1 time. it would be a different story if you returned for multiple clutch replacements. but i dont think that will be your case.

I was going to say, Roush has the same clutch and transmission all together, same engine too! no different internals nothing. A factory clutch in these cars should last way longer and this with dropping the hammer numerous times! the dealer wanted to get paid that's all it is. be sure to always do your due diligence and well done by not giving in! not a single one of those mods is any amount of horsepower to add concern to any part of the factory powertrain.

TBH dealers can be sticklers about warranty repairs like this, because if they do the repair and Ford determines the failed part shouldn't have been replaced under warranty the dealer gets charged back for the cost of the repair.

sometimes, but to be honest, i see many broken part/failures caused by abuse, improper modification, etc. and if we can get it covered we do. but to deny a claim on a clutch because of headers, cold air kit, and a tune is stupid. as a dealer if you cant tell if the part will be charged back you honestly have no clue what u are doing

I can tell you that the #1 thing that kills the clutches right now in the 15s is downshifting at high rpms. example, shift into first gear over 15 mph and you will shear the friction material off of one side of the clutch.
