Default 5.0 has a built in turbonator!!!

Look at the front of the manifold here where the TB connects. See those fins?

Turbonator!!!! LOL!

That must be how it gets 412hp.

Man I really love this new engine. The urge to order a 2011 is strong. But, I should wait for 2012. Good deals on 11's and maybe the new BOSS (one that can be driven on the street unlike the Boss 302R).

Nice set of pics you found. What I find interesting is that the intake seems to be smaller than the current 4.6. It looks like the 4.0 intake, unless the pictures are deceiving in some way.

It really has 425hp at the crank , 412hp is used to keep the insurance companies at bay. How many 4 valve per cylinder cars have an 11:1 compression ratio? That's why it makes big power.........check out them headers much more aggressive then the 4.6...this is a bad *** engine! But no news yet about the 2011 gt-500 wtf .

A 13HP difference keeps the insurance companies at bay?? They should've rated it at 427!

yeah I don't think 13hp is going to keep insurance companies at bay... They are going to see 2011 Mustang GT... 400+hp... time to slap on a rate increase...

it looks sooooo much better without the nasty cover on the top.

but looks like its going to be a awesome motor, cant wait to see what numbers it will make with just an intake and a tune. 400 to the wheels??

If 412 is correct and assuming a 15% DL loss, then it should make around 350 to the wheels. Intake and tune usually gives 20-25. Of course that's how it works on the mod. Who knows how this 5.0 will respond to intake/tune.

But, with the adjustable overlap in the tune, maybe someone can program in "hot rod cams" in the tune. lol! That would be sweet.

Ask you self why 412? was that the number they were shooting for ? 425 was the # just like 500 was the number for the hemi cuda, yet it was rated at 425...The power to weight ratio is better then the camaro and the challenger that's the most important factor...I'm telling ya, for the 1st 5 seconds this new gt will match a 2010 gt -500 but there after the supercharger pulls away bigtime ....
