2011 FORD MUSTANG GT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Wrong about the current GT's weight.
For 2005-2007 (actually applies to 2008 and 2009 as well)
http://www.modernracer.com/fordmustanggt2005.html
For 2010
http://www.corral.net/new/index.php/...ng-first-drive
2005-2009 = Curb Weight : 3483-3518 lbs(coupe), 3614-3658 lbs(convertible)
2010 = The GT swings the scale needle to 3,545 lbs
So my 3450 was a little low but pretty close. 3450 is what I always hear.
So an S197 is about 3500 lets say and the 2010 is a tad heavier (due to the extra sound deadening material mainly).
So we're looking at about a 100 lbs difference between the 2005-2010 and 2011. That's not going to mean much. Especially if you swap out the drive shaft w/ a light aluminum one piece (like I have), lighter mufflers, and a few other things here and there (high flow cats will take away some weight too, lightweight radiator support, etc).

according to this test sheet from caranddriver.com, the 2010 GT w/ Track Pack weighs in at 3580lbs
http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...4ee81b1985.pdf
so no, there's no 319lbs increase for the GT from '10 to '11, that would be ludicrous

I can help with the weight. I had to weigh my 2010 GT (401A, 19" wheels) for my last military move. At a professional scale, my GT topped out at 3410lbs, little under 1/4 tank of gas.
I may still have the slip somewhere, if I can find it, I'll scan it.
I dont know what the '11s will weigh in at, but thats a real world weight for a '10.

Well this is all speculation, but as far as the weight from 2010 to 2011, everyone seems to be giving different numbers. All of this is CRANK hp, because we don't have dyno's of the 11's. This is probably the definition of ricer math, but **** it, why not.
with a 100 lb weight difference, its roughly 10 hp in favor of the 2010.
325 hp 325 lb ft for the 10 412hp 390lb ft for the 11, which is a 65 lb ft of torque difference, and a 87 hp difference, again at the CRANK. That would take, intake, tune, and cams (or any other similar combo, lt's with x pipe for example) to get to similar numbers. Which makes sense, because with those mods, the 10's (and 05-09) are well into the mid-high twelves.
Stock for stock, the 11 will be about 7 tenths quicker, i think coming in faster then the camaro at a average of around 12.9 in the quarter, with a similar trap speed (109ish).
That was all speculation, from me, not a professional by any means. But if you think you need to get a supercharger to keep up with a 5.0 or sell it all together, not quite by any means. It won't take much to get the 4.6's running similar times, and the 5.0 seems to not have as good modding potential.

I was just riding back to work from lunch and man...I just love this car. I'm glad Ford has stepped up the '11, I see it as something to look forward to. (It would be awful if they were castrating the muscle cars like back in the 70's).
But I have zero "remorse" for buying the '10.
