Default 2010 Ratchet Shifter Install

Ok I decided to start a new thread for my 2010 TCI ratchet shifter install. I did the whole install in roughly 3 hours which is pretty good considering all the instructions are for 05-08s and the 2010 interior is completely different. Basically I just started unbolting and ripping out everything until it all came off. If anyone has any questions about taking their 2010 center console and/or head unit off, just ask me because I am a pro now haha. Anyway the ratchet is awesome and I have literally just been driving around (stop and go) for hours testing it out. I have never driven a stick before or even shifted an auto so this was my first shifting expierence and it was pretty sweet. I found that my best/quickest takeoff would going from 1-2-3-2 with O/D off and I would pretty much just leave it in 2 until I came to a stop and then do it all over again (not sure if this common with manuals too). The highest I let it rev up to was about 5000RPM in first and then I shifted pretty quick from that to the rest. Cant wait for a warmer dryer day so I can get some real traction! The only bad thing about the ratchet is the fact the shifter opening on the 2010s is larger then 05-09s (which the ratchet is made for) therefore I have a large gap on the bottom and a small gap to right side of the shifter. It really doesnt bother me because the shifter is so sweet but it is definitely something that I am going to have to figure out how to make look good. Anyone have any ideas? Pics attached

Dood, that is a small gap! But if you like it, and your willing to overcome, that's all that matters! I'd go to a sheetmetal shop and axe what they could do for you.

It looks pretty cool. But is there any use other than looking cool? Couldnt you shift like that with the stock one?

Edit- Never mind. Just looked it up. It basically makes it like a sequential gearbox only with out a clutch.

yes but the stock is a mess and very easy to miss a gear, plus this just feels so much cooler.
