The 400hp FRPP kit chopped the factory warranty and gave you a 12/12 warranty on the blower. That means it only covers a catastrophic failure of the blower and damage that may cause. So if one of the screws breaks, drops parts into block and kills the motor you are good. If you take it out and blow the motor/clutch/tranny but the blower is fine repairs are on you. i got this straight from FRPP when i was shopping for my blower. I had some dealers tell me the FRPP keeps the warranty, but that is not accurate.

The roush blowers on the 10 are the only blowers that keep the real 36/36 warranty on everything. I'm not sure if there will be roush blowers right away for 11's i heard they were having some serious issues with the blowers and the tranny of the car. No idea how accurate that it, but that's what i was told by a roush dealer who had no reason to lie to me.

That's not 100% true...

If you have the supercharger installed from factory, or by the dealership prior to taking it off the lot on a NEW car, then it retains 100% of the 3yr/36K mile BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty!

However, if it is a USED car then you can only get 12/12 warranty...but it is still a FULL warranty, not only on the S/C. That's why Ford gives you the Procal Programmer. You have to use their tune to make sure it is safe.

Additionally, if you check your warranty it states that if you have FORD parts installed by a certified place (even non-ford) it is included under warranty. Also that if you have non-ford parts installed at FORD then it can be included under warranty. It says it in mine...I'll post a picture to prove it! My car is full of FRPP and non-ford gear and still 100% under warranty.

And it's been that way for the last few years....Roush dealer lied to you because he wants you to buy a roush supercharger instead of a FRPP one...just so ya know

Default Heres my take...

If we use the generally accepted x1.5 formula the new 5.0 should handle 600hp. Remember the 3v 4.6 was generally considered safe to 450rwhp. Sure many have gone to 500rwhp with good tunes but some have blown their rods out, some didnt. I dont know anyone at 450rwhp that did. I have read that the new whipple will be rated for 600hp. Considering the 3v 4.6 HO whipple was rated at 550hp this seems to be safe, I would not be shocked if they even go for 625 to 650hp.

The Shelby gt350 you can bet will use the standard off the shelf frpp whipple so my guess is it will be rated at 600hp or better. The Shelby GT/SC used the off the shelf frpp whipple so why wouldnt the gt350? Even the 750hp super snake used an off the shelf KB add a few shelby logos.

The only non off the shelf supercharged option that shelby did have was the early GT/SC which had a Paxton 1220 supercharger (rated around 475hp) with a Vortech LC intercooler. It wasnt a popular seller since the whipple made alot more horsepower. The reason for this (my belief) was the 550 HO whipple wasnt yet available and the paxton 2200 with intercooler requires modification to clear the bigger sway bars (i have the 2200 (about 565-585hp/475-500rwhp) and had to do modifications to make the IC tubing clear).

My guess is we will see the gt350 at 600-625hp and an off the shelf similiar frpp whipple soon. The gt350 already has forged internals so there is no reason shelby would "beef" them up. The shelby gt500 will be offered in a supersnake now with 800hp with a KB.

I will be interested to see what the centri blower companies come up with for the new 5.0 if anything. I dont believe they ever got the 2010 models CARB certified due to the sealed air box issues. I hope they can come up with something but who knows.

FRPP will probably have two versions of the whipple, my assumption is probably a 525-550hp version with less boost ,perhaps without intercooler, that they can dealer install and warranty, we shall see soon.

I myself might consider a 2011 5.0 GT with a 600hp whipple and performance pack of 3.73's and Brembo breaks, that will be an outstanding car for under 50k...of course for close to the same price you can get a 2011 GT500 with the performance pack so we shall see. I didnt like the look of the 2007-2009 GT500 but the 2010 body restyling is pretty sharp.

the 2011 GT has forged crank and rods, but has non-forged cast aluminum pistons. Additionally, you purchase the GT from Ford and "mail" it to Shelby that beefs it up.

PERSONAL OPINION: Off the shelf Whipple 2.9L...600HP (crank). Shelby didn't go in and forge the internals for the Shelby GT/SC, they're not going to do it for the GT350.

I'd like to have the KB so that I can hear that wonderful howling noise they make. 600rwhp on the stock motor sounds great, I wonder what part will be the first part to fail in the drivetrain.

They've already got em on several test cars. They're doing durability testing. I should have more info on the 2.3L and 2.9L Whipple kits shortly.

Thanks, Jared
