Skip shift....?
Just wanted to let everyone know that the skip shift feature can now be turned off and is now available in all of our 2011 Mustang GT tunes.
I'll be making a video today to show how it works.
If you have any other questions in the meantime please feel free to give us a call.
Thanks, Jared

I get it a lot because I like to baby the car, but what I don't get is going from 1st then to 4th where it wants you to shift, you're going maybe 20 mph in 4th and the engine is right at about 1k rpm so it's bogging BIG time and I have to downshift back to 2nd to get out of minivans behind me that are wondering what's wrong with my car. It's a really stupid feature...

Hey all, I just read the owners manual to find a way to bypass the annoying 1st to 4th. I could not find a bypass, but the manual states for the 5.0 V8 will display a 1st to 4th message on the message center at 17 mph. I kept my manual 6 speed in 1st gear from 0mph to 17 mph and what do you know, the 1st to 4th message came on. I continued in 1st and the message went away at 20 mph. It isn't based on of rpm, it is based on speed. Now that I know when it engages, it's easier to avoid.
I used to get distraceted by it too. Seeing it pop up in the message board would cause me to look down, but it is now to the point that I will not even look down when I see it pop up.
Of course, you can ask a tuner to include a skip shift delete in the tune you buy.

I think skip shift is dangerous, it removes the driver from total control of the vehicle at all times and if you pull out in front of a vehicle closing fast from the side, somebody might get confused when the transmission "seems to lock up into 4th gear instead of 2nd gear (which would be the next logical gear) and stall the vehicle in the middle of a dangerous intersection"
