VistaBlue is correct. Don't mod until your warranty is up and try not to shed tears during that time from all of those that ARE modding and ARE enjoying watching you in their rear view mirrors.

Sorry for the sarcasm. It's just my way.

If you're so brilliant in this sea of retards Ripper, then why don't YOU invent the device you're looking for?

As for me, I'd never want to tune the car myself. I can build you an enterprise level software system to do just about any business function you can think of, but tuning a car doesn't interest me at all. I will leave such things to the people that are focused on it, and I will focus on what I do...

I'm with you. I guess that makes us retards though. Oh well. I'm OK with that.

Cool. You wanna hang out and gaze in wonder at the sun sometime? Or eat tater tots or something?

Hey man, I didn't mean to offend you with what I said. I'm all for modding, and have personally never had any trouble with the stealership. That doesn't mean I should go around telling everyone that if you are enough of a tough guy, you can get away with having 4 turbo's, grenading the engine, and still get them to replace it under warranty.

If someone is asking a question about voiding the warranty, obviously they are worried about potentially large costs that said mods could cause him to incur in the future. He deserves to know the truth, and the whole truth at that, not just what we have done personally.

I am not calling anyone retards here you jackass's. All I was saying is I think that is pretty, weak to be honest that so many people pay so much money for a cookie cutter tune that is NOT optimized for your specific car.

So now we're Jackasses? You need to grow up.
Anyway, what's stopping you from making your own tune the same way that companies like Brenspeed and Bama do, or go get your car dyno tuned?

You do realize that "cookie cutter" or canned tune can be had for around $75, with 3 octane options, right? A custom tune will run you 2-3 hours of dyno time ($75-100 per hour), plus real-world tuning if you want something decent, all for just a couple more horsepower?

A canned tune is cheaper, easier (I personally don't have the time to go to a dyno, nonetheless spend the day at a shop) and still has 95% of the benefits of a custom tune.

Well, when I had the Vortech installed on my last GT, I offered to pay for a dyno tune, and the shop came back and said they didn't want to take my money. They couldn't improve the Brenspeed canned tune at all.

To correct you all, the garbage tunes that SCT and Diablo supply with their hand helds are canned (and will work on ANY S197), those from the likes of Bama/AM and Brenspeed are custom (which are specific to your ECM) and then there are dyno tunes which can also be considered custom but typically superior to custom.

And I'm still trying to decide if I prefer retard or jackazz. I'm actually quite fond of azzhole...
