tuners

I'm not mechanically savvy enough to explain it, but I will give you an analogy you can easily follow. Let's say you've got an aftermarket stereo in your car with amps for every pair of speakers and have at least 4 pairs. If you turn the volume all the way down, the bass all the way down, the treble all the way down, the amp gain all the way down, whatever else all the way down, now ask 5 respected professionals to get in the car and set the system for "best sound". I've got $100 that says not even two of them will have the same settings.
If you're not getting a dyne tune, go with the "respected professionals". Bama, Brenspeed, Evolution, BBR, Steeda, etc. There are others I'm forgetting, but you get the point.

Experience for one, I use JDM for tunes for myself, friends and customers be it by dyno or email. They've been doing since the beginning, being authorized by Saleen and FRPP they also have access to inside info, so does STEEDA they are an authorized FRPP manufacturer. Some guys just play around on a computer kind of "test and tune" others just take SCT canned tune and make adjustments based on loose math and flow charts.
